"Cable is Cable, it's all the same" Although the cables and patch panels may look similar, there are in fact a number of options that you can choose
from. For the cables, you can choose to have a particular colour of cabling. You can choose to have normal grey or go for orange, purple, green, red, blue, white or yellow. These colours are particularly useful for exposed cable runs where the cabling could be a 'feature' of the interior design. They are also suitable for area colour coding for a large segmented offices. In addition there is also specialist cable for laying runs out side. This exterior grade cables have a waterproof PVC outer sheath and is UV Resistant. In some instances you may be required to install LSOH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) cabling, as defined by your requirements or the requirements of the landlord. With its LS0H sheath, LS0H cable is recommended for installation in public areas – such as schools, hospitals and airports. When exposed to fire, the LS0H sheath emits low levels of smoke and non-toxic levels of halogen gas. LS0H may also be referred to as LSHF (Low Smoke Halogen Free), 0HLS (Zero Halogen Low Smoke), LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) or HFFR (Halogen Free Flame Retardant). |
