Structured Cabling

Structured cabling allows you to integrate your data and voice services over one cabling system, allowing you to deliver these services from your comms/server equipment to your working areas. They are not regarded as part of the 'fabric' of the building, as such when you move into a new premises a network infrastructure would normally be required before moving in. This type of cabling system allows you to easily connect computer and telephony services to your working areas from a central location. It is easy to 'pipe' additional data network connections to a particular location, and then change the connections to telephony connections as your requirements change.

This infrastructure is a core part of your office environment and is essential to any company. "But can't I just connect up cables across the floor to each computer and phone" Yes you can, however the this would not provide a robust and stable working environment. The beauty of structured cabling is that you 'flood wire' your office/working environment so that networked services are piped to areas that require them, and that the cabling to the area is safe and secure.

Without a proper infrastructure you can experience loss of computer and telephony connectivity and resulting in lost productivity. As every installation is different we are able to provide on-site surveys, this allows us to provide you with an accurate design and proposal. The survey allows us to see your premises, assess cable routes and understand your requirements.

CAT5e and CAT6

"Got to have CAT6, it's the latest technology" Great! if do you need CAT6 cabling we can supply, fit and certify your network. If you are a little unsure on the differences and you exact requirements we would be happy to come and have a chat about your requirements. In some cases you may not need CAT6, and maybe able to still have a gigabit network using Cat5e.

Customisations

"Cable is Cable, it's all the same" Although the cables and patch panels may look similar, there are in fact a number of options that you can choose from.

For the cables, you can choose to have a particular colour of cabling. You can choose to have normal grey or go for orange, purple, green, red, blue, white or yellow. These colours are particularly useful for exposed cable runs where the cabling could be a 'feature' of the interior design. They are also suitable for area colour coding for a large segmented offices.

In addition there is also specialist cable for laying runs out side. This exterior grade cables have a waterproof PVC outer sheath and is UV Resistant.

In some instances you may be required to install LSOH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) cabling, as defined by your requirements or the requirements of the landlord. With its LS0H sheath, LS0H cable is recommended for installation in public areas – such as schools, hospitals and airports. When exposed to fire, the LS0H sheath emits low levels of smoke and non-toxic levels of halogen gas. LS0H may also be referred to as LSHF (Low Smoke Halogen Free), 0HLS (Zero Halogen Low Smoke), LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) or HFFR (Halogen Free Flame Retardant).
